Something to compile answers on
Teaching Steps/Strategies:
1. Show students some ways to get one using manipulatives to add (1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 =1)
2. Demonstrate how three fractions can equal one when added, mutipled, or divided. (1/3 x 1/4 x 12/1 = 12/12 = 1)
3. Break the students up into groups to see how many different answers they can come up with. Remind them that they must use three fractions in their work.
4. Compile all of the answers on a board, paper, or overhead.
5. Have students check work from other groups.
Evaluations Methods/Tools:
1. Have students write down how they came up with their answers and have them give a couple of examples.
2. Have them write a story problem that will equal one when you add, multiply, or divide fractions.
3. Teacher observation and questioning of group work.
