This program was developed to
offer the schools the availability of custodial supplies and
equipment during a seven month purchase window, February through
August, with direct ordering, delivery and billing. Bids are taken
by product line based on the vendors "full house". Two vendors are
selected through the bid process, each serving a pre-determined
portion of the state.
The eastern half of the
state of Nebraska, including Kearney, is serviced by Nogg
Chemical & Paper Company
The western half of the
state of Nebraska, including Grand Island, is serviced by Ideal
Linen Supply.
The 2 halves overlap
between Kearney and Grand Island, and north and south of the
same area, to insure product and service availability to the
schools in this middle Nebraska area.
Product price lists are
delivered from each vendor to their respective schools prior to
the opening of the purchase window. School orders, direct delivery
and billing are all handled by the vendor. Nebraska Coop monitors
sales and reports each school's activity to the
administration.
These prime vendors also
offer in-service workshops and product shows for custodians
throughout the year.
