Library Organization Assistance
The Nebraska Department of Education as well as the Nebraska Library Commission recommend that all school districts within the state of Nebraska, which house a school library or media center, have that area organized according to recommended Nebraska Library Commission guidelines.
The Media Coordinator of the Educational Service Unit 17 is offering to its member schools assistance with the organization of library media center areas.
The main purpose of this offering is to assist member schools with the organization process, no to conduct the process for them.
If you are interested in having the Media Coordinator conduct Library Organization Assistance for your school building, please contact the Media Coordinator at 402 376 1444

Instructional Materials Standards Alignment

Instructional Materials Standards Alignment is a database that was created several years ago by the University of Nebraska and Educational Service Unit Media Coordinators.
The main purpose of the database creation was to link video resources held by Educational Service Unit Media Centers with the Nebraska standards.

WEB ADDRESS IS: http://esumedia.unl.edu/

Currently the Instructional Materials database holds the Language Arts; Mathematics; Science and Social Studies video collections that are held by the Educational Service Unit Media Centers across the state.
Once the database has been accessed, any title can be selected can be selected and the database in turn will provide a list or listing of the standards or standards that are supported by viewing that title.
The process can also be reversed, educators can select a standard and the database will display the title or titles that can be viewed which support that standard.
